Sankalpa means an intention formed by the heart and mind — a solemn vow, determination, or will. Once we form our very own personal determination to live a better life, then we are ready to step into transformation.
My intention is to provide the tools necessary to help us form our own personal determination, energize our body and use our mind to create a path towards a fulfilling life. My coaching practice, Sunkulp and this blog is dedicated towards creating the most fulfilling version of our life through conversations around mind, body and soul. I hope you’ll join me in the adventure!
Everything changed for me when I decided to take ownership of my own destiny and defined what I wanted. See, the truth is that most people focus on what they don’t want in life. They spend most of their time and energy preventing bad things from happening. And, what do they get as a result? A mixed life which often includes many of the things they didn’t want in the first place. Very few of us invest the time and energy to define what we actually want out of life. And when we do, everything changes. Why? Because our thoughts govern our energy and how we direct our energy determines our actions and therefore our results.
How do we form our own personal determination? Often we have a desire or goal that’s been dormant or we’ve experienced enough pain in life that we become ready to challenge the status quo. We wonder — ‘there must be more to life’ and are no longer satisfied with our current limited reality.
We must look deep within. What is it that truly matters to us? What gets our heart beating faster? Do we have a dream we’d like to turn into reality? Is there a change we’d like to create in the World? We strive to answer questions such as — If I had all the money in the World, what would I be doing? Do we know the answer? What’s really needed in the World right now? Without answering these questions, we stumble from one shiny object to another without truly aligning our actions with our `true north`.
It’s the intersection of the questions above that can highlight true opportunities for impact— your personal desire coupled with what’s really needed right now.
What will be your sankalpa?
